Clearing shower at sunset

The sky was looking promising for sunset this afternoon with a forecast of 30% cloud.

A quick drive over to Strangford Lough however revealed a very dark shower cloud over the Lough with only a small patch of clear sky.  There was a strong wind whipping up the waves and as it was high tide I had to move several times to avoid wet feet.  The wind was moving the cloud fairly quickly with clear blue sky and a few bits of wispy cloud behind it.  Unfortunately there was a bank of cloud on the horizon and as the sun set there was only a brief glimpse of colour in the clouds.  The images below were taken over the space of 30 minutes and shows the clearing sky.  The last two have the bonus of a crescent moon.

It was good to get the big camera out again after some 6 weeks.  The longest exposure was 1.6 seconds.  I tried a couple at 15 and 30 seconds but didn't like the way the longer exposure rendered the waves.
